we experienced such a delightful stay in a luxury suite, where we could soak in the magical view of the Christmas lights right from our window, and everything was just a short stroll away, including the beautiful guildford castle and the picturesque stoke park, perfect for leisurely walks.

Breakfast isn't included in the stay, and there's limited dining options unless you head to the restaurant underneath, which lacks natural light. Some areas show signs of wear, like a broken kettle and a few cleaning oversights in the bathroom, which might leave a bit to be desired considering the price of the stay.

The Angel is packed with character. I enjoyed my spacious Junior Suite, which had a cozy sitting area and a charming vibe. The wooden beams and creaky floors added to the historic feel of the hotel. Staff were super friendly, always ready to help, which made me feel very welcome. The location is fantastic, right in the middle of the high street, ideal for exploring. there were some downsides. The mattress felt old and worn out, making it uncomfortable at times. The noise from a nearby bar was intrusive, especially during late evenings. there’s no lift, so be prepared for some stairs. Wifi connectivity was shaky too, which can be frustrating when you need to stay in touch. Breakfast options could definitely be better, with limited choices available.
